If Tyson Chandler wants to stick around another year, he could find a home by returning to where his career took off in New Orleans

Tyson Chandler- (2006-2009)

Tyson Chandler is putting the finishing touches on an amazing career. The reason for that long and successful career is the New Orleans Pelicans. After being viewed as a bust when the Chicago Bulls selected him 2nd overall out of high school in 2001, Chandler revived his career in New Orleans turning into a two-way energy big.

I think what’s not to like about Chandler’s game? In New Orleans, he was a defensive anchor, a dangerous rebounder, and a deadly lob threat. His addition to the Dallas Mavericks in 2011 created a title-winning defense. I’d love to have him return as a veteran nearing the end.

Jaxson Hayes Can Be the Stretch Big Answer. light. Trending

Chandler is 37 and he’s not the dominant force he once was but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have value. All the things I wrote about Chandler are exactly what Pelicans fans hope for with Jaxson Hayes. If I’m the New Orleans Pelicans, I’d give Chandler a veteran’s minimum to play garbage time minutes and mentor the team’s frontcourt.

I’d make Chandler an assistant coach from the bench, the guy who understands how to create a positive culture in the locker room and someone the Pelicans young players can turn to. That’s worth paying the veteran’s minimum for any day of the week.
