The New Orleans Pelicans can take a chance on this blossoming guard in the second round of the 2020 NBA Draft

The second round of the NBA Draft is an excellent spot to take risks and make bold moves. With the New Orleans Pelicans holding not just one but three second-round picks they are sure to take a swing with one of them. Even if they strikeout.

With this draft, every move that gets made is even riskier thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic making most of the pre-draft process virtual. In my opinion, that shouldn’t stop the Pelicans from taking a serious look at Yam Madar.

Who’s Yam Madar? He’s a hidden gem currently playing professional basketball in Israel. The 19-year old point just finished his third season in Isreal for Hapoel Tel Aviv showing off some serious potential that’s putting NBA scouts on notice.

For those that don’t know, David Griffin does have some history with drafting players from overseas in the second round. During his time with the Phoenix Suns, Griffin was apart of a front office that consistently searched for players overseas. In his first season in New Orleans, he even selected Didi Louzada who plays professionally in Australia.

Yam Madar might be the next in line for good reason. His some extremely strong qualities that offer great upside, and his weaknesses all appear to be coachable. Let’s take a deeper look at this unknown prospect and evaluate his fit on the New Orleans Pelicans.
