An underrated player in college could be a potential star for the New Orleans Pelicans in the 2020 NBA Draft

If you watched any of the New Orleans Pelicans last season and thought to yourself that something was off about the team, you were right. Sure, the offense was borderline elite, and the team’s young stars flashed signs of greatness but something was missing.

Some of you might be thinking that the team’s 20th ranked defense was the biggest reason for their downfalls this season, but I’m not sure that’s completely it. Ask yourself why did the team play so poorly?

If you’re looking for my answer I’d say they lacked effort and hustle. Think about it, when the Pelicans got to the NBA bubble in August, their offense fell apart too. Look deeper at a couple of months back and they were stringing together some good defense before the season ended.

Of course, the hiring of a new head coach might instill more energy and hustle into next season’s Pelicans, but what if a player could too? Enter TCU’s, Desmond Bane.

Desmond Bane is my favorite player in the NBA Draft because he’s a grinder. As soon as I started watching him play, I instantly thought that he has the potential for greatness on the New Orleans Pelicans.

Bane makes sense for the Pelicans in the 2020 NBA Draft because his strengths can fix some of the Pelicans’ biggest problems, and he’s a well-rounded prospect. A little skeptical? That’s okay, let’s dive into how Desmond Bane potentially fits the New Orleans Pelicans.
