The New Orleans Pelicans search for a coach may include Jamahl Mosley according to the latest rumors.
The New Orleans Pelicans haven’t said much since they fired head coach Alvin Gentry in August, which has led to a lot of speculation and rumors of who the next coach will be.
Tyronn Lue was the first name to emerge, but he might have his eyes on another job, specifically the Clippers’ head spot, where Doc Rivers was just fired and Lue could be the next man up.
It seems like the New Orleans Pelicans are in no hurry to name someone but are doing their homework to make sure they get it right. In a recent Hoop Collective podcast, an interesting name emerged in the discussion of the Pelicans’ next head coach:

Brian Windhorst named Jamahl Mosley as someone the New Orleans Pelicans could interview next, especially if things continue to move slowly with Lue.
Mosley is name that hadn’t really come up previously, but he is an interesting candidate who has some connections on the New Orleans Pelicans.
Mosley was an assistant at Cleveland when the Cavaliers won a title with David Griffin, so Griffin is well aware of his credentials and how he might fit on his new team.
Mosley is currently an assistant at Dallas (more on that later) who comes from a promising coaching tree and has respect around the league.
But is he the right guy to lead the New Orleans Pelicans?
Let’s take a look at his resume and how he might fit on the Pels.
