New Orleans Pelicans: One trade with the Memphis Grizzlies

The Memphis Grizzlies would be one of the toughest teams to trade with, as they are the Pels primary rival and very close in talent.

The two teams will likely be battling each other for a playoff spot for years to come, so neither one is going to be eager to make the other team better.

The Grizzlies struggled to make 3-point shots, ranking near the bottom of the league in percentage and makes, so may want to add some shooting.

In this trade, the Grizzlies get a veteran shooter to add to their talented core, as well as an early second-round pick. They would also free up some future cap space since Winslow has two additional seasons.

The Pelicans would be taking a chance here, but potentially one that could pay off. Winslow was injured most of this season and only played 11 games total. He didn’t play at all for Memphis, who probably wants to see what they have before trading him away.

Then again, the Grizzlies could potentially get something for a guy who hasn’t proved he can stay on the floor. When healthy, Winslow is exactly the type of playmaking combo forward who would be perfect with Zion Williamson.

Winslow would allow the Pelicans a lot of lineup versatility, as they could go really big with Winslow as the primary ballhandler.

Would the Grizzlies be interested in cashing in Winslow for a sure thing? Probably not, but it’s an interesting trade possibility.
