New Orleans Pelicans: One trade with the Dallas Mavericks

Dallas has two of the best young players in the league in Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis and probably feel that they are just one or two pieces away from a title.

The Mavericks probably would have won the Eastern Conference and were a dangerous playoff team who nearly knocked off the Clippers in the first round.

The Mavs would love to add another weapon and the Pels need some size, so there might be a trade here.

In this trade, the Mavs get another shooting weapon in J.J. Redick. Since Luka likes to work in the paint, they could use more shooters to open up space and Redick can still shoot it at an elite level.

Redick is the perfect veteran to add to any contender, as he has an elite NBA skill and won’t take anything off the table defensively.

In Kleber the Pelicans would get some size, and a guy who can play power forward and center. He can hold his own against bigs on defense and has a sneaky good offensive game that would work well with Zion Williamson.

Kleber has the range to step out and be a stretch-five or work out of the pick-and-roll. He’s a decent passer for his size and would give the Pelicans some rim protection.

The Pels would also clear up a few million in cap space that they could use to add more depth to their bench.
