New Orleans Pelicans: A trade with the Phoenix Suns

The Phoenix Suns shocked everyone when they went undefeated in the bubble and nearly made the playoffs. They were playing as well as any team in the NBA during that stretch, which may have changed how they view their offseason.

Going into the bubble the Suns were out of it, looking like a perpetually rebuilding team and probably thinking about trading Devin Booker. Now they are likely wondering what they would need to add to make this team a contender.

The Suns lacked 3-point shooting, so there may be a trade for sharpshooter J.J. Redick.

In this trade, the Suns are essentially trading a lottery pick for J.J Redick, which would be the type of move you make if you think you can contend for a playoff spot and win.

It would be a lot to give up for a guy with one year left on his deal, but they would be getting back a second-round pick to compensate.

The Pelicans are taking back journeyman Kaminsky, who gives them some much-needed depth and adding a top-ten lottery pick. They would likely only do this deal if they hired a young coach like Jamahl Mosley and not an experienced veteran like Stan Van Gundy.

The Pels would be embracing the youth movement while the Suns would be trying to win now.
