New Orleans Pelicans 2020 NBA Draft: Kira Lewis Jr.

Kira Lewis Jr.

Another talented player who could fall outside the top-ten is Kira Lewis Jr.

He is an interesting prospect, as teams seem to be going away from these smaller guards, yet at the same time, several of them are making a huge impact in the NBA.

Ja Morant came in and dominated from the start due to his combination of quickness and athleticism. Kira Lewis Jr. may be the next undersized point guard who has this kind of impact.

Lewis Jr. is one of the quickest players in the draft, a guy who can go from end to end as fast as anyone:

He will be a great change-of-pace guard off someone’s bench who can absolutely come in and take over games with his quickness, passing and defense.

Not only did Lewis Jr. average more than 18 points per game, but he added 5.2 assists and 1.8 steals.

He is not a guy who most have ranked in the top-ten, but he has the skillset to be a Ja Morant-type player at the next level. The difference is that Morant was picked #2, while most people have Lewis Jr. falling out of the top-15.

This could be the guy from the 2020 NBA Draft who everyone looks back on and says “what were we thinking?”

He could step in and play backup point guard right away for the New Orleans Pelicans and could be the steal of this year’s draft.
