New Orleans Pelicans: Abdoulaye N’Doye could be the steal of the NBA Draft

Abdoulaye N’Doye’s Weaknesses

Though Abdoulaye N’Doye has great size for a point guard, he lacks quickness, which might make it difficult for him to stay in front of NBA guards.

He is more cut out to defend wings, especially with his length, so ultimately he may be playing out of position in France.

But N’Doye doesn’t shoot the ball well enough to play wing, though he did average 43 percent from behind the arc on a small sample size. His release is slow and he doesn’t get much lift, so it is going to be tough for him to get his shot off over NBA defenders, especially on the wing.

N’Doye has the length, but it might not be enough to make up for his lack of quickness. Point guards in the French league were blowing by him, which doesn’t bode well for his chances in the NBA.

However, if he is employed smartly on defense, he could be a weapon, as he is versatile and would create some mismatches on the other end.

There are also some questions about his motor and focus, as he was often caught napping or looking disinterested when he didn’t have the ball in his hands.

N’Doye is not going to be an NBA starting point guard, at least not unless he improves, but he has the chance to be an impact role player, especially on the offensive end.

But does he fit on the New Orleans Pelicans?
