NBA Draft: Top 3 small forwards for the New Orleans Pelicans
New Orleans Pelicans NBA Draft: Small forward prospect Jordan Nwora
Jordan Nwora
The Pelicans have three picks in the second round and if Jordan Nwora is available, they should use one of them on him.
He is one of the guys I think will outplay his draft position, and could fall to the Pelicans if things break right.
Nwora’s draft stock is lower because he had the audacity to stay in college for three years, something many pro scouts see as a huge red flag.
But Nwora got markedly better in each of those three years and will be an impact bench player for someone.
He’s 6-foot-7 and averaged 18 points and 7.7 rebounds for Louisville, while hitting 40 percent of his 3-point shots.
He shot over six 3-pointers per game, so he has the accuracy and volume that usually translates to the next level.
He is not much of a playmaker with the ball, and doesn’t block a lot of shots, but he definitely has 3-and-D potential, as he can already shoot and has the size to defend the position.
Nwora is a potentially elite rebounder at his position and racked up the double-doubles in his final season at Louisville.
The Pelicans need a guy who can come in a play and Nwora should be able to contribute right away, as his age is the only real red flag he has as a prospect.
The New Orleans Pelicans are very likely to draft a wing in this year’s NBA Draft and any of these three would be good choices.
Bey is an all-around player who is the ideal 3-and-D prospect, Nesmith is a bucket and Nwora might be the overlooked player in this draft.
