The Boston Celtics are heading for a roster shake-up to win it all and could offer the New Orleans Pelicans the farm for Jrue Holiday

#1- Boston Celtics

Potential Assets Available: Marcus Smart, Gordon Hayward, Romeo Langford, Grant Williams, Robert Williams III, 14th pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, 26th pick in the 2020 NBA draft, 30th pick in the 2020 NBA draft

God bless Danny Ainge, “Trader Danny” or what critics in the Boston area like to call him “Hoarder Danny” has done a great job compiling a ton of young players and draft picks. Now with a budding star duo in Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum, Ainge might look to fix some of his roster’s chemistry issues and add Jrue Holiday to be the team’s missing star.

If Ainge calls the Pelicans, it’ll be a take your pick and we’ll discuss the situation, so we’ll just start from the top.

A package for Holiday for financial purposes will start with one of two guys, Marcus Smart or Gordon Hayward. Marcus Smart is a first-team All-Defense player who would be perfect for giving the Pelicans some grit, his problems over the past two seasons with Jaylen Brown should make him available even though he’s a fan favorite in New England.

Then there’s Gordon Hayward. As someone who lived in Boston back in 2017, I can remember all the billboards welcoming Hayward to Boston that summer and the crazy Bostonians who believed he was the next Larry Bird. Unfortunately, injuries have derailed Hayward’s All-Star career. The Pelicans could be interested in him though because he’s a do it all wing.

From there Boston has a trio of unproven young players who could turn into some foundational role players with skills that would fit Stan Van Gundy’s schemes. None of them would be game-changers but they would complement the team New Orleans has put together pretty well.

We can’t finish this discussion without talking about those draft picks either, Boston has three of them in this year’s first-round and any combination of them could be valuable to the New Orleans Pelicans as they look to make their own roster improvements.

And just like that, there it is, the Jrue Holiday trade package power rankings. Will a deal for Holiday come to fruition? Who knows, but the New Orleans Pelicans certainly have plenty of options.
