Christmas Day Matchup #2- New Orleans Pelicans vs Golden State Warriors

Oh yes! This is a great matchup, two teams who love scheme based offense that relies on 3 point shooting. One team in the New Orleans Pelicans seeking to make noise in the NBA and establish themselves as a contender. The other, Golden State Warriors seeking to climb back up the NBA mountain and regain their crown.

Does that not sound like a fascinating matchup? I mean seriously, I’d love to see how bombs away game that this would be. Lonzo Ball trying to keep up with Stephen Curry, Jrue Holiday (barring a trade) trying to lockdown Klay Thompson, and Zion Williamson going at Draymond Green all night.

This game is the ultimate present versus future matchup. With the Golden State Warriors being such a high profile team too, there’s a good chance that his matchup makes it to a primetime slot on one of the NBA’s biggest days of the year.

Not only is their entertainment value, but this game is also a great chance for the New Orleans Pelicans to see if they’re really up to the task of being a playoff-caliber team in the NBA. It could be an early-season benchmark for the Pelicans, and if they win, then oh boy don’t let them win!

If they beat the Warriors on Christmas Day, that’s an easy way to create a momentous hype train that the Pelicans can follow for the rest of the season. There would be nothing better than that.

Well almost nothing, we haven’t even gotten to our top Christmas Day matchup.
