The latest trade rumor has the New Orleans Pelicans sending Jrue Holiday to the Celtics.

The New Orleans Pelicans have been involved in so many trade rumors the last few days that it is hard to keep up. Most of them involve Jrue Holiday, who is reportedly being shopped to contenders.

Holiday has been mentioned to the Nets, Nuggets, Clippers, Thunder, Pacers, Warriors and Suns, and those are just the ones we know about. All have benefits and could make the Pelicans a much deeper and better team.

The latest rumor comes from The Ringer’s Kevin O’ Connor, who says the Celtics have emerged as a possible destination for Jrue Holiday.

New Orleans Pelicans rumors: A trade of Jrue Holiday to the Boston Celtics makes sense

First, it would have to be known which pick the Celtics moved up to get. Second, who would the Celtics be willing to give up to get Holiday? Marcus Smart makes the most sense for the Pels but it is unlikely he’s available.

That means that either Kemba Walker or Gordon Hayward would have to be on the move for this to work. Here is a potential trade if the Celtics were to move up to the 7th pick by trading their three picks with Detroit:

Would this be enough to move the needle for the New Orleans Pelicans? Would buying low on Hayward be a smart move? Would the Celtics push in their chips like this for Holiday?
