Jrue Holiday trade rumors: The New Orleans Pelicans could swap with Warriors or Nuggets

It is no secret that the Warriors want to trade the #2 pick in the draft for an impact player so it makes sense that they have been linked to Jrue Holiday.

I love this trade, as it would allow the Pelicans to get more versatile, taller and add another top-five pick to their core.

This makes a lot of sense for the both teams, as the Warriors add another star to complement their “Big 3” and the Pels get a wing and can take LaMelo Ball or James Wiseman with the #2 pick.

Denver Nuggets

Another team that has been closely linked to Jrue Holiday is the Nuggets, who would love to add a third star to go along with Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray. There have been a lot of trade rumors surrounding Denver and the sticking point seems to be whether the Nuggets would prefer to include Michael Porter Jr. or Bol Bol. The Pels would prefer both but this is probably the offer they would get:

If the Pels could get Denver to toss in a future pick or Bol Bol, even better, but this trade gives them a nice bench player in Gary Harris and a future star wing in Michael Porter Jr.

Taking a risk on high-ceiling players like Porter Jr. is a great way to maximize Holiday’s value, though there might be better trades available.
