New Orleans Pelicans NBA Mock Draft: Golden State Warriors pick #2

Anthony Edwards. 2. Scouting Report. Guard/ Georgia. Golden State Warriors. player. 41. Pick Analysis

If I had to bet I’d say that the Warriors will trade this pick, but let’s just pretend for a minute that they didn’t.

The Warriors have been trying to throw the league off by saying they like everyone from Onyeka Okongwu to Obi Toppin here, but the truth is that they are just trying to build leverage for a trade.

Barring a trade, Anthony Edwards makes sense. He has potentially elite scoring ability that is still raw, which works for the Warriors since they don’t need him to be a star right away but can let him develop at his own pace.

Edwards would add another scoring weapon off the Warriors’ bench as well as a guy to build around once the Splash Brothers ride off in the sunset. As one of the youngest players in the draft, Edwards doesn’t have to be a star immediately to make an impact.

He is the type of shot maker the Warriors don’t really have, as he is a slasher who can beat people off the dribble and score in the mid-range.

The Warriors aren’t likely to use this pick, but Edwards would be a nice addition for the present and future of the team.
