New Orleans Pelicans mock draft: Pels trade up with Detroit Pistons for 7th pick

The Pistons would definitely love to add additional picks in this draft and would probably be willing to trade out of the 7th spot to do it.

Center/ USC. player. 7. 69. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. New Orleans Pelicans. Onyeka Okongwu

Onyeka Okongwu is a guy who has moved steadily up most big boards over the last few months.

He is a rim runner who can block shots, stretch the floor and fits well with Zion Williamson and the Pelicans’ current collection of players.

He would give them another talented big man to put next to Jaxon Hayes and the Pels could end up with the best big man from this draft, as Okongwu is seen by many people as a better player than Wiseman.

Okongwu will be a combo forward/center who defends all over the floor and could give the Pels a presence like Bam Adebayo gives the Miami Heat.

Traditional centers are no longer in vogue and Okongwu fits the mold of a modern big who can run the floor, shoot some from long-range and block a lot of shots while defending multiple positions.

He would be the perfect addition to the New Orleans Pelicans, and if they plan to move up, this is a guy they should target.
