The New Orleans Pelicans could move up in a trade with the Atlanta Hawks.

The New Orleans Pelicans now have three picks in the 2020 NBA Draft and could use them to move up in a trade with the Atlanta Hawks.

The Hawks have made it clear that they are willing to shop their sixth pick for a veteran guard in an effort to win now.

Many thought that guard would be Jrue Holiday but he was moved to the Milwaukee Bucks in a move that netted the Pelicans a ton of future draft assets and two veteran guards.

The Pels had too many guards before this trade and need to add depth at both forward positions and center, so it is likely that one of Eric Bledsoe or George Hill will eventually be moved.

Bledsoe is the most likely to be traded, as he as the most value and the Pels already have Lonzo Ball.

Could one of them be the asset that helps the Pelicans move up in the draft?

The Hawks have potential as a trade partner, as they have a plethora of bigs and would like to put a defensive-minded guard next to Trae Young.

The question is whether the Pelicans have enough to jump from the 13th pick all the way up to 6th. Many experts believe there is not a lot of difference between those picks this year, which may allow the Pelicans to move up without turning over too many future assets.

The Hawks are more interested in players than picks but would definitely want to stay in the lottery if possible, while the Pelicans would like to add some big man depth while moving up for an impact player such as Onyeka Okongwu, who could be the best big man in this draft.
