New Orleans Pelicans: Draft day trade with the Atlanta Hawks

Trade #2

In this trade, the Pelicans get a better big man but no draft pick in exchange for Bledsoe, a second-round pick this year and the Lakers’ pick next year.

For the Hawks, they get their veteran guard plus two draft picks, one of which will be a first-rounder, albeit a high one considering it will be from the Lakers.

This would be more than the Hawks traded to get Capela so they’d be coming out ahead and would still have the sixth pick in the draft.

The Pelicans would get their starting center, a guy who fixes a lot of their rim protection and rebounding issues. They only have to give up Bledsoe and one of their million picks, which would likely be in the high-20’s.

The Pels would still have the 13th and 24th picks to work with and could just take the best player available with no clear holes.

If the New Orleans Pelicans want to move up and get another top talent to add to their core, the Atlanta Hawks are a good match.
