The New Orleans Pelicans could take a major risk and reunite David Griffin with one of his former franchise players

#2- Kyrie Irving

I’m not joking, I think New Orleans Pelicans fans should seriously consider monitoring how this year in Brooklyn goes for Kyrie Irving because if it goes poorly he might wind up back with David Griffin in New Orleans.

My theory for this move is that just like the two prior stars’ teams, cracks are beginning to show in the Brooklyn Nets before their superstar duo has even taken the court together. Some reports speculate that Irving is the main issue in these cracks.

Right now, it’s all mostly speculation but some people believe that Irving didn’t want the Nets to hire Steve Nash as their head coach and Durant decided for them. Now, some recent rumors are suggesting that Kyrie Irving doesn’t want James Harden to come to Brooklyn, even though Durant wants Harden.

If those things turn out to be true then what this turns into, is Kyrie Irving being made out to be a difficult superstar who caused problems in Cleveland, Boston, and now Brooklyn. This could drive his value down in the league with some teams worrying that Irving could derail their culture. That devaluing could lead to the New Orleans Pelicans scooping Irving up and trusting that his close relationship with David Griffin can mature the troubled point guard.

Now it’s questionable whether or not Pelicans fans should want Irving on a team with young stars, but we can’t deny his talent. After all, it was his shot against the Golden State Warriors in 2016 that gave the Cleveland Cavaliers their first NBA championship.

A Kyrie Irving-Brandon Ingram-Zion Williamson big three would surely be tough for any team in the NBA to handle. The amount of speed and shot creation that the trio could have on the basketball court sounds poetic.

Of course, after Irving, there’s one player left to talk about. He’s the player that every NBA franchise will have their eyes on next season.
