The New Orleans Pelicans should pursue Andre Roberson

Andre Roberson

Remember Andre Roberson? He was once the wing defensive anchor for the Oklahoma City Thunder but has spent most of the last three years injured.

Roberson did come back for seven games in the bubble but didn’t play enough to get a good read about where he is physically.

If Roberson can come back 100 percent he would still have a lot of value to the Pelicans as a defensive stopper on the wing. He is 6-foot-7 and can defend multiple positions, which is exactly the type of defender the Pelicans need.

He and Steven Adams could be potential defensive anchors for the Pelicans, as they already have plenty of scoring with Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram.

Roberson won’t get a ton of interest in free agency, so the Pels might be able to get him on a minimum deal, which would be a great low-risk move that could pay off if he is healthy again.

Roberson is still only 28-years-old and could be an impact defender for the New Orleans Pelicans.
