New Orleans Pelicans: Lofty goals for each of the team’s starters in 2021

Brandon Ingram should try to continue his upwards trajectory by making an All-NBA team in his second season with the New Orleans Pelicans
Brandon Ingram- Make an All-NBA team
As everyone in the world has an absolutely terrible 2020, Brandon Ingram continues having a great one. After winning Most Improved Player last season with a terrific performance for the Pelicans, he was awarded a 158 million dollar max contract. The hope being that with that contract, Ingram will continue ascending into the NBA’s elite.
The next step in that ascendance? Making an All-NBA team in 2021. After all, that’s what other young players in the NBA have done. After winning Rookie of the Year, Luka Doncic went on to make the All-NBA team last season while even garnering some MVP votes. Similarly, Jayson Tatum accomplished the same feat after slowly emerging with the Boston Celtics.
If Brandon Ingram wants to be considered in that class of stars, he’ll need to make an All-NBA team of his own. To do that, he’ll have to continue his dynamic scoring output, improve his defensive game, and most importantly help the New Orleans Pelicans win basketball games.
That last part is the most important, guys like Bradley Beal and Devin Booker have put together seasons even greater than the one Ingram put together last season, but have failed to make the All-NBA team because their teams didn’t win.
This goal should motivate Ingram to not only take his game to the next level but also take the New Orleans Pelicans to the next tier of NBA contention in 2021.
