New Orleans Pelicans: 4 NCAA draft prospects to watch this season

Evan Mobley could give the New Orleans Pelicans another lethal threat in their frontcourt going forward
Evan Mobley – USC
Have you seen how putrid the New Orleans Pelicans frontcourt has been beyond Zion Williamson and Steven Adams? If you have and are as disgusted as I am, then Evan Mobley is the player for you.
Mobley is an athletic freak. He’s 7 feet tall with a 7’5″ wingspan and carries unique agility for that frame. Don’t think of him as another lumbering project though, he’s lighting up the NCAA too.
So far on the season for USC, Mobley is putting up 18 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 assists per game with hitting 50 percent of 3 pointers and blocking 3 shots a night. Just like Suggs, his play has taken USC to a stellar 5-1 record.
He’s still skinny and refining his fundamentals, so I think he could be the perfect player for the Pelicans to target in the draft and let him develop behind Steven Adams. In time, as Adams ages, he can take over and form a dominating duo with Zion Williamson.
Adding Mobley would easily give the New Orleans Pelicans the best frontcourt in the NBA going forward with two dynamic inside-outside scorers. A swift-180 from what we’ve seen this season.
