Pelicans vs. Pacers: Player Grades for the power forwards

Power Forwards

ZION WILLIAMSON. A. . Williamson. New Orleans Pelicans

I thought Zion Williamson could have went for 40 points last night if they hadn’t stopped going to him.

Zion ended up sitting for most of the overtime, which made no sense considering the Pels were having trouble scoring and the Pacers hadn’t really stopped Zion all night.

If nothing else, Zion might have grabbed one of Ingram’s misses and put it back in, so there is really no reason he should have been on the bench that long unless he was too tired to go.

Zion and Steven Adams kept the Pelicans in the game early with offensive rebounding when the shots weren’t falling.

Zion had a couple of nice defensive plays, including this one that led to the play of the year:

Zion carried the Pelicans offensively for a stretch but then they went away from him, something I am sure Stan Van Gundy will not be doing in the future.
