New Orleans Pelicans: Lonzo Ball needs to redeem himself

An angry Lonzo Ball

Lonzo Ball had a pretty good game against the Pacers right up until the final minute of it, when he coughed it up for the decisive turnover.

One of he or SVG should have called a timeout, but both seemed to have a brain meltdown at the same time.

Lonzo Ball is too smart and too good to get ripped like that, so I expect he will be playing angry against the Thunder.

This is a good thing, especially if Lonzo can channel that anger into shutting down Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as he did in the first meeting between these two teams.

I would like to see Lonzo play angry, to play like a guy who knows he screwed up and is ready to fix it.

This goes for the offensive end as well. Part of the reason the Pelicans are having a hard time closing out games is that their point guard can’t shoot free throws and is reluctant to try.

Lonzo Ball should be aggressive going to the rim, should try to get to the foul line, and if the game is close, he should want the ball in his hands even if that means getting fouled and having to shoot free throws.

I guarantee that Lonzo Ball was not happy about how things went down against Indiana and will hopefully take it out on the Thunder.
