#3 – Lonzo Ball is not worthy of a max-contract extension from the New Orleans Pelicans

This one might sting for Pelicans fans, but here it, Lonzo Ball at this moment is not worth the max-contract extension he’ll likely demand in his restricted free-agency this offseason.

Don’t believe me? Well, let’s look at it this way. Is Brandon Ingram worth his contract? I think we can all say yes 100 percent given his MVP play. So, is Lonzo Ball as good as Brandon Ingram? No, he’s not.

Now you can give me all the arguments in the world, but let’s face the facts, Pelicans fans don’t want to give Lonzo an extension because they think he’s an elite player. They want to give him an extension because they don’t want to risk losing him for nothing.

Trading him means the team gets something for him, and it also gives the team flexibility to pursue a player who might actually be worth a max-deal. Not to mention, the team will have to pay Zion Williamson in a few years.

I hate to give the bad news on another fan-favorite, but don’t be surprised for these reasons, Lonzo Ball is traded at the NBA Trade Deadline. And don’t be surprised if that trade actually makes this team better too!
