New Orleans Pelicans: Trading J.J. Redick to the Warriors makes sense

The Golden State Warriors

Look who is tied for the 8th seed in the West but only 19th in 3-point shooting.

Yep, it’s the Golden State Warriors.

The Warriors are trying to compete even though they are missing Klay Thompson and haven’t shot the ball well to start the season outside of Stephen Curry.

This is especially true of Kelly Oubre Jr., whose shooting woes have been well documented.

Could the Warriors and Pels swap one struggling shooter for another?

Oubre Jr. could at least give the Pels some depth behind Brandon Ingram and is big enough to defend the position.

He is on the final year of his deal as well, so this would just be the Pels trying out a wing who is better than he’s shown so far this year.

It couldn’t hurt, as the Pels are way too guard-heavy which has forced guys like Josh Hart into tough assignments.

The New Orleans Pelicans may not be able to find a taker for Redick the way he’s playing, but if they can, they should try to use him to balance the roster with a wing, forward or center.
