New Orleans Pelicans: 3 things we need to see vs. the Timberwolves
New Orleans Pelicans: Do the Pels have the worst guards in the NBA?
Some life from the guards
Coming into the season, the New Orleans Pelicans had an imbalanced roster with too many guards and not enough forwards, wings or bigs.
This has proven to be an even bigger problem than expected because almost all of them have been terrible.
Lonzo Ball and Eric Bledsoe have been one of the worst starting backcourts in the NBA through the first month.
J.J. Redick has been flat-out awful, struggling through the worst shooting slump of his career.
Josh Hart has been good defensively and on the boards but has also struggled shooting the ball.
Nickel Alexander-Walker has been up and down. He has shown some flashes of greatness but also some flashes of terrible shot selection and too many turnovers.
Kira Lewis Jr. has played little and though he has shown some signs, he has not earned more minutes yet, which is something that may be soon to change.
The Pelicans need some life from their guards, particularly Lonzo Ball and Eric Bledsoe, who both need to be more aggressive and knock down some shots.
If not, change may be coming…
