New Orleans Pelicans: Grades for blowout win over the Wizards
New Orleans Pelicans vs. Wizards Player Grades for the small forwards
Small Forwards
After a quiet first half in which he deferred to Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram carried the Pelicans’ offense in the second half, ending with 32 points, eight assists, six rebounds and a career-high seven 3-pointers.
The Wizards kept going under Steven Adams’ screens in the second half and Ingram kept making them pay with both mid and long-range shots.
The only flaw in his game was that he only shot one free throw, which is something that needs to change, as he can and should be getting to the line 5-6 times per game minimum.
Ingram is most effective when he doesn’t have to dribble too much, gets to his spot and lets it fly.
The New Orleans Pelicans moved the ball much better against the Wizards, though they still went through a few stretches of hero ball in the second half.
Brandon Ingram is a star and should continue to have these types of games as long as teams are focused on stopping Zion Wilimason first.
