New Orleans Pelicans: It’s time for Kira Lewis Jr.

Stan Van Gundy mentioned Kira Lewis Jr. after the Houston game, as he came in and scored an efficient ten points in ten minutes of mop-up duty.

SVG said that he needs to get Lewis Jr. more minutes and he does, though he has been reluctant to go to the rookie for extended minutes thus far.

He at least plays with pace and can get into the lane, which is more than I can say for any of the Pels’ other guards, who all stand around the 3-point line like they are spot-up shooters (they aren’t).

SVG may go even deeper into his bench if the Pels drop this game to the Kings. We had the first Wenyen Gabriel sighting of the season vs. Houston and may see more of him.

We could get some Naji Marshall minutes, who knows? At this point SVG has to try anything and everything off the bench, as the second unit is absolutely killing the Pelicans right now.

If they lose to the Kings, expect to see some new faces popping in and out of the rotation.
