New Orleans Pelicans: Trading J.J. Redick to the sixers makes sense

The Philadelphia 76ers are one of the best defensive teams in the NBA, currently ranked 4th in defensive efficiency.

Thybulle is definitely part of that and has shown the potential to be an elite defender on the perimeter.

But Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid are the heart of the Sixers defense and they are going to be good either way. Thybulle only plays 16 minutes a night, getting fewer minutes than Danny Green, Shake Milton, Furkan Korkmaz and Isaiah Joe.

The Sixers are 15th in 3-point shooting percentage, not terrible, but they would definitely love to add some more shooting around Simmons and Embiid.

The question is whether they think Redick could provide it. He has been awful this season, there is no hiding that, but the Sixers are well-familiar with his work and might roll the dice that the real Redick will emerge.

If he did, the Sixers would potentially have two dynamic 3-point shooters in their rotation and Redick is a guy with plenty of playoff experience.

They also get back two 2nd-round picks for their troubles.

Would the New Orleans Pelicans be interested?
