New Orleans Pelicans: Matisse Thybulle would be a nice addition

If you looked at Thybulle’s stats you wouldn’t be blown away, but the Sixers think he has All-Defense potential.

He is only 23-years-old, on a team-friendly contract and could be the wing defender the New Orleans Pelicans have lacked.

Thybulle can defend multiple spots on the perimeter and his defensive versatility could make him a fit in many different lineups for the Pelicans whether they wanted to go big or small.

This would be a no-brainer for the Pels, as no player they draft in the second round is likely to be as good as Thybulle and he fits the timeline of the rest of their young players.

Scott and Poirier are on the final year of their deals and probably wouldn’t interest the Pels long-term, though Scott wouldn’t be a bad veteran to have coming off the bench for the league minimum.

Even if the Pels had to sweeten the pot a bit more, it would be worth it to get something of actual value back for Redick, as more late draft picks aren’t going to move the needle.

It would be worth taking a chance on Thybulle, even if it meant digging even more into the stockpile of picks.
