If gambling is legal where you live, then there are some compelling bets to make when the New Orleans Pelicans take on the Phoenix Suns.

Please take my advice with a grain of salt and bet responsibly, as the NBA is one of the most difficult sports to bet on, especially if you just bet the outcome of the game.

But if you are betting on the players, there are some interesting ones in this one.

New Orleans Pelicans: Lonzo Ball will score more than 13.5 points

Lonzo Ball has emerged as the Pelicans’ third scoring option but the bookies haven’t seemed to notice.

His point total is getting decent odds at -119 to score over 13.5 points against the Suns.

Lonzo is averaging 14 on the season but had 18 against the Suns in their last meeting and has scored 14 or more points in 8 of his last 12, including 21 most recently against the Trail Blazers.

I’d take the over on this one and hope Lonzo continues his hot shooting.

Lonzo Ball will have fewer than 5.5 assists

Another bet worth making on Lonzo Ball is that he will not get more than 5.5 assists. Lonzo has only had more than 5.5 assists in 4 of the last 12 games, and only had one the last time these two teams met.

With Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram handling the ball more these days, Lonzo is more of a scorer than passer, so the smart bet is that this will continue against the Suns. These two bets would be good to put together if you like them, as Lonzo is unlikely to have a big night passing if he is also scoring a lot.

New Orleans Pelicans: Zion Williamson will have over 1.5 steals

This is more of a long shot bet but gets good odds at +185.

Zion Williamson has had two steals or more in three of his last four games and has picked up his defense as of late.

He will have a good chance to swipe a few more against the Suns’ bigs.

The New Orleans Pelicans are a tough team to bet, as they usually blow the other team out or get blown out themselves, so the smart way is to bet individual players.
