7. Pelicans: Zion Williamson’s physical dominance

This is another play that might get overlooked during the run of an entire season, but one that showcases what Williamson is made out of.

In this game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Williamson did not have a great shooting night. He struggled from the field, still managing 19 points but missing 10 of his 16 shots. The Pelicans actually lost this game 110-120.

This play embodies Williamson pretty well. He bulldozes his way to the rim and then uncharacteristically misses. However, Williamson sticks with the play, manufactures his own second chance opportunity with the offensive rebound, and then sticks it back in with the dunk over Jaden McDaniels.

Williamson currently gets about three offensive boards per game and is a constant threat on the opposition glass.

6. Zion seals the win with the lob

This dunk features Williamson closing out a win at home against the Memphis Grizzlies.

After Steven Adams secures an offensive rebound, he passes it off to Eric Bledsoe and the highlight ensues. Bledsoe attracts Memphis’ defense on the drive and then tosses it up high for Zion to catch it.

Williamson does just that, getting the ball and delivering the win at the Smoothie King Center for New Orleans. The Grizzlies can do nothing but look up as Williamson seals the victory for his team, while the Pels bench explodes out of their seats.

Williamson finished this night with 29 points. The Grizzlies have been one of his favorite opponents this season, as well as for the Pelicans. New Orleans is undefeated against Memphis, whereas Williamson is averaging a cool 30 points per game against them.

They are undoubtedly one of his favorite opponents and we’ll have to be on high alert the next time he faces them. We could be in store for another big night from Williamson with more spectacular dunks.
