New Orleans Pelicans: Trading for Spencer Dinwiddie would be worth the risk

If the New Orlean Pelicans were to kick the tires on a trade for Dinwiddie, they might be able to pry another young talent away at the same time.

Here is a trade that might work for both teams:

In this trade, the Nets get their shooter and two second-round picks in exchange for Spencer Dinwiddie who is injured and Nicolas Claxton who is no longer part of the rotation.

For Brooklyn, this would be an all-in move to win a title this season, as they would be loaded with talent, veteran playoff experience and championship pedigree.

Claxton likely lost any chance he had at making the rotation when the Nets signed Griffin and this trade would also allow them to get out from the last year of Dinwiddie’s contract which would clear up a fair amount of cap space for next season, even if they were to re-sign Redick to a modest deal.

They also get two second-round picks in exchange for giving up Claxton’s potential, which they might want considering they don’t have a lot of future draft capital.

It makes sense for the “win now” Nets, but what about the New Orleans Pelicans?
