The New Orleans Pelicans aren’t winning a lot of games but that doesn’t mean that bettors can’t win money.

The Pels are not an easy team to bet if you like to take the points, as they are involved in a lot of blowouts, either doing the blowing out or getting wiped out themselves.

They are -8 against the Timberwolves which seems a bit high to be honest. The Pelicans have already lost to the Timberwolves this season and that was without Karl-Anthony Towns, so I’d stay way from that one.

Here are three bets I do like, including the end of my streak of recommending Lonzo Ball. Remember, you are nuts to bet based on anyone’s opinion and you should always do it responsibly.

New Orleans Pelicans vs. Timberwolves: The total will be over 239 points

I’ve been hammering the over on the Pelicans nearly all season and it has almost always paid off, largely because they score a ton of points and don’t play defense, which is a good combination for high-scoring games.

The Pelicans have the 29th ranked defense in the NBA, while the Timberwolves have the 25th, so this will not be a defensive struggle. The two teams scored 230 combined in their last meeting and that was with Zion Williamson having an off game and with Minnesota not having KAT in the lineup.

They almost couldn’t make this one high enough not to bet the over.

Pelicans vs. Timberwolves: Lonzo Ball will score fewer than 16.5 points

The sports books have finally caught up to Lonzo Ball and raised his point total, which is why I am finally going against it. He had been in the 14 point range for many games, which was easy money, but he has failed to score more than 16 points in 3-of-4 games.

He only had 11 the last time these two teams met, so I am going to try and get my Lonzo bets going again by betting the under on this one. Hopefully Lonzo Ball will make me regret it.

New Orleans Pelicans vs. Minnesota: Brandon Ingram will have more than 4.5 assists

This is a sneaky good bet, mostly because of the odds, which are currently at +100 that Ingram will have at least five assists.

He has done so in four of his last six games and put up a whopping nine in the last game against the Bulls. This one should be high scoring and Ingram will have the ball in his hands, so I see this as a good value bet given the odds.

The New Orleans Pelicans need to start winning games but until then you can still win some money so that there is a silver lining.
