New Orleans Pelicans: Trading for Karl Anthony-Towns

If the Timberwolves did not want the platter of prospects and picks, then they could go for a center to replace Towns and just pile on even more picks instead.

If the Timberwolves didn’t want to take on as many players or had no interest in NAW or Hayes, then they could just trade for Steven Adams straight up and get the Pelicans to throw in even more picks, though this one would have to wait fo the offseason if Adams is involved.

Fans are often loathe to give up on draft picks, but he Pelicans have too many to use themselves and will eventually have to turn some of them into adults who know how to play basketball.

This trade would get the TWovles a replacement for Towns who brings an element of defense and rebounding and would get them a slew of picks to work with for the next several years.

If they feel like Edwards, not Towns is the centerpiece of their team, then they could build around him with guys who are on his timeline.

Adams would be gone by the time they are all good, so Minnesota could potentially have a loaded young team when Edwards starts to hit his prime.

But would the Pelicans mortgage some of their future for KAT?
