New Orleans Pelicans: Trading Lonzo Ball to the Atlanta Hawks

The Atlanta Hawks are the most recent team to get in on the Lonzo Ball trade talks and they are also the one that makes the most sense for the Pelicans.

The rumors all include the Hawks centering the deal around Cam Reddish, but that in itself is not going to get it done, as he has been awful so far.

It would take a huge leap of faith for the Pels to trade for a guy who has not come close to living up to his potential, especially for a player who looks like he can be part of the future core.

But Reddish is not the only player the Hawks could move.

John Collins will be a restricted free agent and would be a perfect fit on the Pelicans though it might be tough to squeeze in his new salary.

Kevin Huerter is another guy whose skillset would fit the Pelicans. In fact, I would much rather have Huerter and a pick than have anything to do with Cam Reddish.

Huerter and Reddish as a package might have some appeal, as it would at least give the Pelicans one guy with big upside and one who has already shown he has an NBA skill.

I don’t think the New Orleans Pelicans are going to trade Lonzo Ball unless it is part of a bigger deal, but if they do, the Hawks would be the best choice out of the current rumors, as they can offer a better package of young talent and picks.
