New Orleans Pelicans: Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram’s two-man game

All season I’ve been hearing about how Brandon Ingram might not be the best fit along Zion Williamson from fans looking to start trouble on Twitter.

While I understand the desire to bring in an elite wing defender, that doesn’t have to come at the expense of Ingram, who showed just how dynamic the two can be in last night’s contest.

The majority of Ingram’s eight assists were to Zion Williamson and the two were in a groove all night working in transition and out of the pick-and-roll. Look at this dime from Ingram:

I wrote early in the season that Ingram and Zion could end up being the best duo in the NBA and they certainly played like it last night.

If they can keep developing this type of two-man game, they will be hard to stop, especially after the Pels surround them with more shooting.

It certainly wasn’t a perfect night for the New Orleans Pelicans, but they showed heart and glimpses of a very bright future.
