New Orleans Pelicans vs. Knicks: Let the Lonzo Ball circus begin!

One of the most annoying storylines of the season has been the contract status of Lonzo Ball, though we knew this would be the case when he and the Pelicans were unable to reach an extension in the offseason.

The Knicks have been at the forefront of every Lonzo Ball rumor and this will be their last chance of the season to see him play firsthand.

Lonzo has been out with injury and was pretty terrible his first game back, so if he wants to get the bidding war started early, he needs to have a big game against the Knicks.

The Knicks and Bulls are the two teams most expect to make a run at restricted free agent Lonzo Ball in the offseason, though the Pels would have the opportunity to match any offer they made.

The question is whether they will, as the Pels might decide that $20 million a season is too much for a guy who has been relegated to a 3-point specialist who has missed a lot of games with injury.

Is Lonzo Ball destined for the big lights of Madison Square Garden? This won’t be the last time this question is asked and these types of rumors will just heat up again if Lonzo has a big game today.
