New Orleans Pelicans: 3 stories to follow vs. the Knicks
New Orleans Pelicans: Brandon Ingram at shooting guard
I wrote recently that Brandon Ingram’ season is largely being overlooked because of all the Zion Williamson hype and Lonzo Ball drama.
Ingram is quietly having another All-NBA level season and the Pelicans have recently used some lineups that could benefit him in the future.
The last time the Pelicans played the Knicks, Ingram started alongside Naji Marshall, who has been very good since getting some playing time due to injury.
I was hoping to see this at some point in the season, as Ingram can play some shooting guard if he is playing with another wing who has size and can defend.
Ingram’s defensive problems are well documented, so moving him onto smaller guys may make better use of his length.
It would also allow Marshall to take on the other team’s best perimeter player, as he might already be the Pelicans’ best defender.
I would really love to see more of the two of them together, as the Pels’ future may involved Ingram at the two, especially if they re-sign Marshall or grab another defensive-minded wing in the offseason.
The New Orleans Pelicans’ chance are rapidly coming to an end, but there are still plenty of reasons to watch.
