The New Orleans Pelicans and Charlotte Hornets played a back-and-forth game but all eyes were on the two brothers.

Lonzo Ball and LaMelo Ball did not disappoint in their second matchup against each other. They are the first pair of brothers in NBA history to be drafted in the top five.

Lonzo got the last laugh as the New Orleans Pelicans got a huge win over the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday night. Lonzo finished the night with 12 pts, 6 assists, and 3 rebounds.

Although he may not have scored a lot he did contribute to the team by giving amazing looks. When Zion Williamson was out last season, ‘Zo and Jaxson Hayes had a great connection, and that was shown even more on Sunday with several passes going to Hayes for the assist.

New Orleans Pelicans: Lonzo Ball cranks up the intensity

LaMelo Ball and the Hornets put up a fight though and it was great to see the intensity from the Ball brothers in this game. LaMelo finished with 22 pts, 5 assists, and 4 rebounds. So far LaMelo has gotten the better of Lonzo Ball in their two matchups, though the teams have split the games.

If you are Lonzo Ball you cannot let your little brother outshine you on the big stage. That is every older sibling’s worst nightmare; having the younger sibling do better. Lonzo needs to use this as fuel, attack his brother like they are out in the driveway because, with that extra spice of competitiveness, it will only make Lonzo play better and even put the Pelicans in a better chance of winning.

After the game, Eric Bledsoe spoke to the media and was asked about the improvement that Lonzo Ball has had this season.

"“No matter win-lose he always wants the ball…he’s going to get better as he gets open.”"

When Lonzo is open he can hit his shots, but it is that ability to find the open space that has occasionally been challenging. Lately, he has been doing a lot of off-ball movement which has helped him get better looks.

When it comes to these matchups, they will be must-see TV, but Lonzo Ball needs to find a way to outperform LaMelo because right now he’s 0-2. This has to light a fire under him to be the better Ball brother.
