New Orleans Pelicans: Potential free agents from the Memphis Grizzlies

Justise Winslow

Winslow is another guy who is very interesting, as he is just a restricted free agent, so the Grizzlies will have to decide whether they want to exercise their team option and bring him back.

That option would cost them $13 million next season, so it is a tough call, as Winslow only played in 26 games this season, though he was effective down the stretch in a few games.

I am sure Memphis would love to bring him back, but not for that much, so I could see them turning this option down and letting him walk, especially if he isn’t impactful in the playoffs (if they even make it).

The Grizzlies pretty much have all of their guys locked up for next season, but if they think they can use that $13 million to find a better player or maybe two role players, I could see Winslow being allowed to walk in free agency.

Would the Pelicans be interested? Winslow is a good defender, a plus playmaker for his size and shot the ball better this season, so there is a match with the Pelicans, who need more of these types of glue guys.

If they could get him on a low-cost deal, the Pels might have some interest but it’s a long shot given that he is a restricted free agent.
