The Pelicans need a scorer other than Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram

Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram were one of the more durable and productive duos in the NBA this season.

They were the second-highest scoring teammates and I think they will take that crown as soon as next season, as Zion is going to score more than 30 a game if he shoots more free throws and Ingram is bank for at least 24-25 points per game himself.

The problem is that the Pelicans lacked a consistent 3rd option to go with them.

The good news is that he may already be on the team in the form of Lonzo Ball, who often looked like he was ready to be part of the Big 3 and had some monster games.

But he also disappeared a lot, couldn’t stay healthy and was very inconsistent shooting the ball.

If he improves in these areas, he will be that guy, but if not, the Pels need to find someone who is unless they think Nickeil Alexander-Walker is going to make a big jump, which he might.

The Pelicans could try to trade their first round pick for a guy like Malcolm Brogdon or a similar veteran who is ready to step in and be the consistent third option they were missing this season.

The New Orleans Pelicans aren’t far from being a good team but they do have some big holes to fix in the offseason.
