New Orleans Pelicans: 2 good players on bad teams the Pels could target
New Orleans Pelicans: Kevin Love should be a trade target
Kevin Love is definitely not the player he was when the Cavaliers signed him to a max deal and to be honest, I am shocked that he is still there.
Love was obviously unhappy with his teammates over the last few seasons and was barely able to mask his disgust at times, which showed in his attitude and in his numbers, which have gone way down.
Love is no longer the rebounding machine he once was, nor is he a very good defender, so he wouldn’t help the Pels much in those areas.
But he is a big who can shoot the 3-ball, which is something the Pelicans would love to have around Zion Williamson.
The Cavs would love to get rid of Love’s contract and clear some cap space and playing time for their young guys.
It wouldn’t take a ton to get Love, so the Pels might be able to make it happen with some combination of Eric Bledsoe and picks. If they can do it without giving up a young player or a lottery pick, then Love would be a nice addition as a stretch four and his contract is up before the Pels have to worry about Zion.
