New Orleans Pelicans draft picks: NBA Draft prospect Josh Giddey

One of the hottest names in the NBA Draft of late is Josh Giddey, a point guard who currently plays for Adelaide in the Australian league.

Giddey is a 6-foot-8 playmaker with many of the same strengths and weaknesses as a young Lonzo Ball, as he is a great passer with slick handles who can grab rebounds and defend.

Slimmed down Garza could be a steal in the 2nd round. light. Related Story

Giddey will only be 18 at the time of the NBA Draft, but he has already played some professional ball and showed he can get it done, averaging 10.8 points, 7.4 rebounds and 7.4 assists per game for Adelaide.

If you look at his draft profile, it looks a lot like Lonzo’s did, as most people agree he can be a very good playmaker but question his overall athleticism and ability to knock down shots, as Giddey only shot 29.3 percent from long range on 3.5 attempts per game.

But he is a pretty good defender and shot blocker already, and should be able to handle a few positions in the NBA, though there are questions whether he can stay in front of point guards.

A lot people think he’ll be the best passer in this draft class, and you can see some of them here on his highlight reel.

But does he really fit on the New Orleans Pelicans? That is a tough question.
