The New Orleans Pelicans are looking to hire another head coach after letting Stan Van Gundy go after one season. The focus has mainly been on two guys, but there are some under-the-radar choices that at least deserve consideration.

New Orleans ended the 2020-21 regular season watching the postseason from home while considering who to take in the upcoming NBA Draft.

New Orleans Pelicans: The new head coach is a chance at a fresh start

After ending the season in 11th place in the Western Conference with a 31-41 record, New Orleans decided to let go of Stan Van Gundy.

Clearly, the firing of Van Gundy came as a surprise to many considering it was a selection made by general manager David Griffin.

Needless to say, after all of the success by younger teams within the last couple of years, the clock has officially started for Griffin.

Recently WDSU’s Fletcher Mackel, reported that the New Orleans Pelicans are strongly considering Phoenix Suns’ assistant coach Willie Green and Milwaukee Bucks assistant coach Charles Lee for the position.

Although both coaches are facing off in the finals and show promise for the future, there are three coaches that are flying under the radar who deserve consideration.
