New Orleans Pelicans: 3 prospects to watch in the Tokyo Olympics

New Orleans Pelicans: Alex Abrines (Spain) is hoping to use the Tokyo Olympics to showcase his improvements
The smooth stroking Spanish guard featured in three seasons with Oklahoma City Thunder before being waived. Although his NBA three-point percentage does not replicate a sharpshooter, Abrines is a volume shooter capable of having big scoring nights, like his career-high seven threes in an NBA game.
Back with FC Barcelona in the Liga ACB, a strong showing in the Olympics will bring back more interest. A 27 years-old, Abrines may not be interested in a return, but if not, the New Orleans Pelicans desperately need a dynamic, confident shooter like him.
Predicated on off-ball movement, Abrines scores the majority of his point coming off screens and hand-offs. With Willie Green at the helm, we will most likely see a lot of ball and player movement, making it essential to have a shooter like this. His finishing inside the arc still needs work, but there is no reason why Abrines cannot feature in spot minutes similar to an old Kyle Korver.
The New Orleans Pelicans will be looking for any way to improve this offseason and may be able to find some talent at the Tokyo Olympics.
