New Orleans Pelicans’ best picks of the NBA Draft: No. 1- Anthony Davis

Davis was the first overall draft pick in 2012 and brought Pelicans’ fans hope for a bright future. Davis was one of the reasons why the fanbase grew. In 7 years with the Pelicans, he averaged 27 PPG and 10 RPG. He dominated every stat for the  New Orleans Pelicans and was a reason why in 2018 they swept the Trailblazers in the first round of the playoffs.

He leads the franchise in multiple categories, and has 11,059 points in the 466 games played. Don’t be surprised if Zion Williamson breaks that record if he continues at the rate he is going, but for now Davis is still at the top of most New Orleans’ leaderboards.

But even with all of his accolades with the team, Davis demanded a trade from the Pelicans, making fans turn their backs on him.

The Pelicans are loaded with talent right now because of the trade to the LA Lakers, which gave the them Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, and several first-round picks.

The New Orleans Pelicans don’t have a long NBA Draft history but they’ve had some of the best picks available in that time.
