New Orleans Pelicans: Naji Marshall- Grade A

The most pleasant surprise of the game was how comfortable Naji Marshall was with the ball in his hands. With Kira Lewis Jr. struggling with his shot, Marshall assumed the scoring load in the first half and delivered. The 23-year-old finished with 18 points to go along with 5 boards as well.

He was the only player on the New Orleans Pelicans attacking the basket with regularity, getting a few tough layups to fall. His primary focus was on both elbows, getting to his spot, and knocking down those jumpers with ease.

Marshall was poised and seemed to be able to dictate the pace of the game whenever he wanted. No one could stop him when going downhill on high ball screens, which allowed him to space the floor out well for the team.

On the defensive end, he wreaked havoc, racking up a trio of steals while fighting over screens thrown his way. His impressive play, coupled with an intriguing athletic profile, makes me want to see what else Marshall has in his bag for the upcoming season.
