Josh Hart: BROCKHAMPTON

It’s astonishing to me that so few fans of music know about the group BROCKHAMPTON. The band consists of 13 members, and they have a unique style that is indicative of the current era of music.

They have a methodical hip-hop sound with thought-out vocals that are captivating as a listener. With all the good, there is still more out of them in which you want.

For some reason, despite their sound catered for Gen Z, they haven’t caught fire yet to a mainstream audience. Their highest place on the Hot 100 was at #66 with the song”Sugar.” The song only charted for nine weeks, and it’s the only song that made that list altogether.

Josh Hart is a player who plays like he’s designed for the current generation of basketball. On offense, he shoots from beyond the arc and within three feet of the rim, and he is a high-energy defender.

Although offensively, he sounds like a decent piece, it’s not nearly as efficient when you break it down. This past year he only shot 32.6% from downtown, which was worse than players such as Marcus Smart.

Yet, there are things with Hart only true fans of the NBA will appreciate. He plays with a high motor and seems he is going at 100% every second he’s on the floor. Hart also added this rebounding piece to his game last season, in large part due to undeniable hustle and grit.

Hart probably should be a better player than he is, but he still has valuable traits that could allow him to improve his game. Like BROCKHAMPTON, he will never be at the top of the game, but he doesn’t have to be.

He’s not that kind of player, and that is what makes him endearing. They both know their role and execute them to the best of their ability.
